THE IMPERIAL EDICTS OF SAN FRANCISCO
With San Francisco's high rates of homelessness, AIDS, filthy streets, & totally unaffordable housing, you'd think the San Francisco Board of Supervisors would be too busy serving its own citizens to have time for frivolous or meaningless resolutions. You would be wrong:
10906: Calling for impeachment of Bush & Cheney
77604: Against showing characters that smoke in movies & TV
56505: Urging State Bar to reconsider Kenneth Starr as featured speaker at Annual Meeting
3306: Condemning Border Protection, Anti-Terrorism, & Illegal Immigration Control Act, HR 4437
6406: Rename 16th Street between Pond & Prosper, now José Sarria Court (after first drag queen to run for elected office)
5205: Urging new trial for Mumia Abu-Jamal
10005: Against legislation that would privatize Social Security
16305: Congratulating the 15 Association on its 25th anniversary (gay S&M club)
24605: Urging Governor to 're-visit' Three Strikes law adopted by California voters & state legislature in 1994
32405: Sending warmest regards to Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands
38105: Supporting Conscientious Objection to Iraq War (for volunteer army)
81805: Urging Fox News to fire Bill O'Reilly
41405: Opposing Governor's support of Minuteman Project
68905: Commending George Galloway
53205: Establishing City policy of maximizing purchase of Organic Certified materials when procuring necessary goods for the city (which are of no proven benefit)
53805: Urging bill which could permit persons 16 years or older to vote in city or county elections
75805: Condemning William Bennett for 'racist' comments (which was much indignation about nothing)
81605: Urging clemency for Tookie Williams
36004: Urging Transfer of Elephants at SF Zoo (which no longer has them due to idiot moonbat Matt Gonzalez)
43804: Commending Joe Wilson (who was shredded by Senate Intelligence Committee)
53704: Calling upon President to condemn genocide in Darfur (does not mention Islam, Muslim, or jihad)
73402: Commending Jimmy Carter for winning Nobel Peace Prize
4201: Opposition to John Ashcroft as Attorney General
74001: September 11th Day of Tolerance (pdf. here, for those with no gag reflex)

CALIPHATE OF SAN FRANCISCO
If
you thought Saudi Book Fair was an oxymoron, you'd be right.
Saudi Jeans relates his visit to the Riyadh Intl Book Fair,
which is most notable by the books not on display.
Deliciously, a panel on cultural diversity ends abruptly after
screaming extremists drown out a panelist.
The panel also featured the voice of a woman speaker piped in from
another room, like the Wizard of Oz. Closer to home, San Francisco's world-famous self-reverential "independent"
bookstore
City Lights won't stock Oriana Fallaci's books criticizing militant Islam:
"We don't carry books by fascists."
Of course, they have piles of rot by faux-academic
embarrassment Ward Churchill. Q: What does it take for a leftist to by
discredited by City Lights? A: Nothing. So Stalinist liberals who
passionately defended totalitarian communism now defend totalitarian
Islam. Progress!
See also
City Lights' preening website, which breathlessly boasts "the Beats' legacy of
anti-authoritarian politics & insurgent thinking continues to be a
strong influence in the store, most evident in the selection of titles."
HA!

GUESS SHE CAN CALM DOWN NOW: "I'm more worried that white people are going to start a riot when he's given clemency." Robin Toma, executive director, Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission
"Tookie Williams is a tragic example of a wasted life brought by irreversibly poor choices. His life should be remembered as a waste & not extolled in martyrdom & legend." Mychal Massie, Project 21 black leadership project
WTF Alert: "To execute one of the nation's most effective spokesmen against gang violence is to effectively condemn hundreds more poor, black youth to the same fate." Ajamu Baraka, executive director of something called U.S. Human Rights Network (ED: but not if they don't cap anyone)
YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS SHIT UP: Campaign to End the Death Penalty will protest Tookie's 'legal lynching' outside the Justice Department in D.C. tonight. Note to CEDP: since capital crimes are referred to in the 5th Amendment, if you want to end the death penalty, you'll have to amend the Constitution.
IF THIS DOESN'T RISE TO THE LEVEL OF SELF-PARODY, WHAT DOES? "Troy Goodwin brought his 2 children, 12-year-old Trayva & 11-year-old Tevin [?], to the prison gates on what he said was a reality-check field trip. 'I want them to see the pros & cons behind this issue up close & personal,' Goodwin said. 'The message is that no matter how good you become, they still crush you.' Protester Carolyn King was crying: 'If he doesn't rise to the level of clemency, then what does?'"

Beautiful Atrocities: Maria, you come
from a distinguished pedigree of bleeding hearts, social
workers, crybabies, & 5150's. As First Lady of
California, will you have any input on Arnold's decision regarding the
execution of mass-murdering Gandhi figure Tookie Williams?
Maria: Arnold was elected by the voters, & he will make the best decision for California. And if he wants any more of this fly snatch, he'll make the right choice.

WELCOME TO BERKELEY: A MALKIN-FREE ZONE
Dear Berkeley Public Library,
I see you still haven't responded to my
repeated requests you order
the new Michelle Malkin book Unhinged, even though
your user-friendly suggestion form states If you would
like a response to your suggestion, enter your email address
here. Is this for real, or are you jerking me off?
I realize that after blowing your budget on that expen$ive renovation you may have sacked your order department, so I also emailed your Library Director, but heard nothing from He/She/It either, which is weird, since Michelle is a much-loved figure in Berkeley.
You have 0 copies of Michelle's 3 books, yet 33 copies of Al Franken's books. Michelle even does her own research, unlike Franken. You have only 3 copies of Rush Limbaugh's books, yet 30 copies of Michael Moore's books, including Estupidos Hombres Blancos, presumably for the benefit of illegal aliens, who are tragically unable to read Michelle's Invasion.
You have a single Sean Hannity book, 1
Robert Spencer book, & 3 copies of Michael
Savage's first book (he's written more). It's nice you have 11
copies of Ann
Coulter's books, but you also have 11 copies of
What's
the Matter With Kansas, 11 copies of
Nickel &
Dimed, 16 ridiculous copies of
Bait & Switch, & 48
volumes
of Chomsky wisdom.
If it's a matter of space, you could junk those 5 Andrew Sullivan books, as he's gone quite mad & no one returns his calls anymore. To me, it's an issue of diversity, as well as having the common courtesy to say Yes, we'll be thrilled to order Michelle's new book, or Fart off you reactionary pig. Either way.
Your friend,
Jeff
UPDATE! Peter Kay comments he received the following email from Berkeley Public Library:
"Your suggestion to purchase Unhinged was duly noted & placed on the monthly suggestions for purchase list. The fact that I have begun to receive exceedingly nasty emails from someone about why this book has not been purchased does not remove it from the list. However, such nastiness does not advance its purchase either. If you have any idea about who might be sending such threats, you might suggest they cease. The title remains on the list but the online suggestion box has been closed down in previous times when an abundance of threatening emails arrived. I’m sure you would not like to see your ability to make suggestions removed because of others poor use of the facility."
Success, as I've never received a response to any of the books I've suggested. However, there's no reason for nastiness - I always find humor & snark work better.

A MESSAGE FROM BARBARA BOXER
Hello. I'm Barbara Boxer. Today. The Senate.
Reached an historic.
Bipartisan. Agreement. Which preserves. The integrity. Of the. Judicial.
Process. Which means. We Democrats. Bent over. And assumed. The
position.
If you're wondering. Why. I'm talking. This way. It's how. You talk. So it sounds. Like you're saying. Something. Important. When really. I'm blowing. Smoke rings. Outta my ass.
It hurts. So. Good.

IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING....
'JUST A REMINDER / WE SHOW MOVIES HERE / SUPPORT LOCAL INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES'
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Oakland's Grand Lake movie theater would like you to know that in addition to promulgating crackpot conspiracy theories, sour grapes, political temper tantrums, & tired old paleoliberal canards, they also show theatrical films. Not sure if this is an occasional gig or standard procedure. Call for titles & showtimes. In other news from the Bay Area, aka the Lost Continent of Political Correctness:
¶ The SF Zoo shelved its contest to name their 2 new grizzly bears. Rules were the names had to be Native American. FYI 'Navajo Joe' & 'Chief Wahoo' were not acceptable. How about 'Ward Churchill'?
¶ In Oakland, Uhuru House, the local black racists, have launched a campaign against Patrick McCullough, a black anti-crime advocate who chased drug dealers out of his neighborhood & shot a young man who assaulted him:
"McCullough must be removed from the African community before he kills. The U.S. government hires sellouts like McCullough to make it look like we're killing ourselves. Whose side are you on? The people or the pigs?"
Uhuru House is run by the African People's Education & Defense Fund, which bills its mission as "Positively impacting the transformation for African people throughout the world" & calls for reparations to bring about that transformation.
¶ UC Berkeley's new chancellor Robert Birgeneau issued a call to action for greater ethnic diversity on campus, saying the inclusion of 'underrepresented' minorities is "the most significant challenge that Berkeley faces." Really?? Translation: UC now prohibited from using race as a factor in admissions thanks to Prop. 209.
I suppose underrepresented is a reference to the bogus notion of proportional representation (which began as an anti-Semitic ploy in the Twenties, with advocates saying Jews were overrepresented in the Ivy League compared to their numbers in the general population). Since anyone can apply to UC, Birgeneau isn't talking about equality of opportunity, but equality of results.
¶ Bay Area Reporter (not online) reports SF still trying to skirt Prop. 209. After the ballot measure banned minority preferences in public hiring, contracting, & education, SF continued its affirmative action until a Superior Court struck down the program last year. Since then, SF supervisors have been reauthorizing emergency legislation every 60 days to ensure 'nondiscrimination' despite 209.
¶ A federal grand jury re-indicted a self-described "voodoo chief" & "shaman psychologist" who performed exorcisms in Oakland on charges she failed to file income tax returns.
¶ West Oakland library will celebrate the life of Bobby Hutton, national treasurer of the murderous Black Panther Party who was shot & killed by police in West Oakland 37 years ago. Hutton is a famous martyr who was killed after a Party hit squad attacked San Francisco police in an attempt to 'avenge' the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.
¶ The SF Sheriff's Dept will be hiring a new batch of deputy sheriffs, but the oral tests, normally held at SF hotels, have to held outside the city limits, because none of the city's hotels offer domestic partner benefits, mandatory if you want to do business with the city of San Francisco.
¶ Dianne Feinstein is up against the Rev. Lou Sheldon for the dubious honor of the SF Pride Parade's Pink Brick raspberry. Her crime: making the shocking statement that the gay marriage push was "too much, too fast, too soon". Judging by the numbers of state constitutions being updated with gay marriage bans, looks like Feinstein's guilty of speaking the truth.

'the republicans who preach a culture of life are guilty of mass murder in iraq'

BLACK HAIR & BLACK RACISM
Apollonia Jordan, crack reporter for SF Bayview, National Black Newspaper, provides a textbook case of demonizing middleman minorities in a rant against Asian-owned beauty supply stores :
"Evil paranoid hate-bearing eyes are what Black people get when they walk into these Asian-owned beauty supply stores making money in our community. Every time we go into one of these stores, there is an Asian person following us around making us feel uncomfortable in your [sic] own community, because in their minds every Black person steals. These people have come into our community & taken over our beauty supply industry & what are we gonna do about it?"
Apollonia makes the ludicrous claim that Asian-run stores have "locked out Black-owned manufacturers fromng up beauty supply chains." Of course, the only way a new minority can 'take over' a market is to undersell, in this case by providing service in high-risk, high-crime neighborhoods.
William Raspberry on middleman minorities: "Their advantage is not knowledge but values: the willingness to live upstairs over the store, to put their children to work behind the counter & to keep to themselves. Make no mistake, they do serve - no matter that their service is likely to be described by those who depend on it as gouging, exploitation or bloodsucking.
"The problem is, their entrepreneurial activity often involves intangibles: walk-to locations, convenient business hours, willingness to run the risks of robbery, theft & nonpayment - all of which are exchanged for cash."
Thomas Sowell:
"Where the middleman function has been performed by an ethnically distinct group, such groups have been among
the most hated minorities anywhere. Few have experienced the centuries of
animosity, persecution, mob violence, mass expulsions
& wholesale slaughters which have been the fate of such middleman minorities as the overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia, the Jews in Eastern Europe or the Armenians in Turkey.
"All the blacks lynched in the entire history of the U.S. do not add up to the number of Chinese slaughtered in one year in 18th-century Vietnam or in 17th-century Philippines, & the mass killings of Armenians & Jews in the 20th century have been many times greater. Often such groups have been accused of charging exploitative prices & usurious interest. Yet it has been common for their expulsion to be followed by rising prices, higher interest rates & shortages of goods."
Kim McKee on the Black-Korean Conflict (pdf): "Many African Americans are unaware that these stores operate on a low overhead & are mom-and-pop establishments, where in the owner's mind, any time he loses a candy bar, a bottle of milk, or a package of cracker jacks, that’s 10¢ more he has to take out of his pocket to service the debt.
"Merchants in D.C. routinely work 12-to-14 hour days, 6 days a week. Yong Kim, a Korean grocery store owner, works from 10 to 9, 6 days a week, every week of the year because the $5700/month he owes in rent & taxes means he can never close his store. Kathleen Hom, a mayoral assistant on the Commission on Asian & Pacific Islander Affairs, discovered that merchants make an average of $8000 a year: 'Most rent their spaces & have no medical or property insurance.'"
Note that Apollonia's rant is in a paper that's big on reparations. So while she's pissed at the work ethic of Asian immigrants, the message to black kids is, Whitey owes you, so why work hard?

TAMMY BRUCE: NO GIRLIE WOMEN
Tammy Bruce will be debating the president of the California Nurses Association on Hannity & Colmes tonight. The Nurses are pouting that Arnold's a 'bully' for calling their unions - gasp - special interests! Tammy's advice:
"If they can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. The feminist movement for decades has worked to have women be treated as equals, not as sniveling cry babies who need to be coddled. And what do the teacher & nurse union operatives do when confronted by politics? They turn into sniveling cry babies. Or perhaps a more appropriate term - Girlie Women."

NANCY PELOSI EXPLAINS IT ALL
Hi, I'm Nancy Pelosi. As House Minority Leader, it's my job to find the doggy doo-doo under every piece of good news. Let's face it, I could piss all over the Second Coming of Christ if I had to. Take Social Security. With all this crap about money, people are losing sight of the really important issue.
Of course it's
a pyramid scheme. Of course you'd be better with a plan that
actually invested the money, rather than immediately spending
it. The main thing is, it's a
FEDERAL PROGRAM. More people on federal programs is good, because
it means they're more likely to vote for the party that promises them
the most government pork hint hint.
And if it goes belly up, it just pisses people off so they demand MORE GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION. Is that too brilliant?? Whereas, if you invest your own money, you might learn things like PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, a dangerous concept that needs to be curtailed.
Or take Homeland Security. When this was debated, private sector proposals would have saved millions and put our security in the hands of employees that were actually fireable & accountable. GIVE ME A BREAK. Federal workers are my bread & better, the more the better! It's not about fiscal responsibility or American security, but MORE GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES. DUH

Hi, I'm Nancy Pelosi, & I enthusiastically endorse Doris Matsui running for her late husband's seat in Congress. No one is more saddened by the death of Rep. Matsui than me, because it means having a Congressional election in California with NO incumbent, exactly the sort of constitutional crisis gerrymandering is designed to avoid.
I don't have to tell you California is trending right & those crackers in Sacramento are looking simply red. Under my House leadership, we're now in the worst position since WWII. At this point, I'd endorse a shaved chimp if I thought he could win! If this seat goes, they're talking about replacing me as House leader with a pro-life Democrat.
AM I LIVING IN A SCIENCE FICTION MOVIE?? IS THIS BATTLEFIELD EARTH??
I didn't claw my way to the top just to go back to being another Congressional Left Coast Cassini probe. I should be in the Senate, not Boxer. Is that bitch lucky or what?? Not too long ago she was just another rad-chic Marin xxxtremist, now she's in the Senate crying on daytime TV like she's Erica effing Kane!!
She's so stupid, she asked the drugstore for reversible panty liners. To check her eardrums, they do a retina scan. When she goes to the gyno, she turns her head & coughs. THAT SHOULD BE ME!!
That's why it's important to vote for Doris Matsui. Whoever the hell she is.

URGENT MESSAGE FROM MY CONGRESSWOMAN BARBARA LEE

"Today, a person fell out of a window in Riverside. Yesterday, a person fell out of a window in Sheboygan, more evidence of the failed policies of President Bush. I am calling for a Commission on Defenestration to investigate the root causes of this criminally negligent epidemic of people falling out of windows.
"Wednesday, a woman fell out of a window in Tulsa. This person had received NO window-consciousness training. I am calling for funds to be allocated to educate the public on the dangers of falling out of windows. Corporations must be required to hold window-safety seminars.
"Last weekend, a man fell out of a window in Reno, yet the President still has not addressed this public safety emergency. I propose a new federal Dept. of Declivation to establish rapid response teams, in tandem with OSHA inspections to ensure that each & every window generates at least ½" of paperwork.
"I categorically reject calls for window safety to be outsourced to private companies that cut corners in their quest for a 'profit,' & look forward to thousands of new federal window safety monitors who will doubtless vote Democratic.
"We demand answers! We demand results!"
This public safety message has been brought to you by Barbara Lee, the People's Representative®

LUCKY BITCH

Barbara Boxer is soon to be a best-selling 'author'. Her 'literary' agent hooked her up with SF novelist Mary Rose Hayes to 'collaborate' on a novel: "Boxer's provided characters, details & descriptions; the novelist has combined those elements into a story." In other words, Babs' contribution is - her name.
The 'plot' concerns "personal friendships & betrayal, political infighting & pragmatism" as a short liberal extremist takes on right-wing evildoers. This should be choice, as I actually met Mary Rose Hayes at a writing conference a few years back. She's an eccentric Brit who writes overwrought Gothic sudsers with titles like Amethyst, where all the characters have soap names:
"Catriona, Gwynneth & Jess are attending an English boarding school when Victoria Raven predicts their futures with the aid of her magical amethyst ring. During 2 decades, Catriona discovers that her husband is a homosexual in love with Victoria's manipulative bisexual brother, Tancredi; Gwynneth, who adores Tancredi, becomes a fashion model; artist Jess is romantically linked with an eminent Mexican surgeon; Victoria heads for the world's trouble spots as a journalist. In 1985, Tancredi summons them all to the Ravens' castle in Scotland for a fateful reunion."Clearly, a perfect choice to tell the Barbara Boxer story.
"Oh Babs," he breathed, "how how how does a loudmouth little extremist like you keep getting elected to the Senate?"
"Oh Manfred," she moaned, breast heaving in the crepuscular gloaming, "perhaps it's because my dirty campaigns make Karl Rove look like Reese Witherspoon! Or perhaps it's the wire coat-hanger I wear in my hair! Or perhaps it's because the California Republican Party has its head so far up its ass, it can check for polyps! Or perhaps it's just because I'm a - LUCKY BITCH!"

OUR LADY OF TRANSITIVE VERBS
My Congresswoman, Barbara 'Thank Allah for Gerrymandering' Lee
I was excited to see my Congresswoman Barbara Lee had issued a dramatic new press release 'Barbara Lee Blasts Administration Plans to Delay Grants for Global AIDS Funding'. HOWEVER - when I clicked the link, I went to an old press release called 'Barbara Lee Rails at HUD Secretary's Statement that Being Poor Is State of Mind'.
I like Barbara's press releases because clearly she attended a workshop where they stressed the importance of ACTION VERBS:

- Barbara Lee Blasts Bush Administration for Horrible July Employment Numbers!
- Barbara Lee Appalled by Actions of Enron Employees!
- Barbara Lee Rails Against Republican Medicare Plan!

I'M BARBARA BOXER & I APPROVED THIS MESSAGE

Here I am when I first heard about that Paula Jones tramp
Hi there, I'm Barbara Boxer. I've received thousands of letters from Californians worried about terror, the terrible cost of the Iraq War, affordable healthcare, job security, education, Social Security, & violent crime. I just want all of you to know that as your Senator, I will NEVER allow us to go back to the days of back-alley abortions. N.E.V.E.R. I will fight to extend the right to abortion to all Californians, even the unborn. My rap sheet:
Led fight against partial-birth abortion ban. Voted against prescription drug benefit, because women on Medicare are too old for abortion anyway.
Voted against Gulf War & Iraq War but FOR Clinton's 1998 mini-war, because war is basically an effective wedge issue, like abortion.
Was 1 of only 20 Senators to vote against $24 billion for Homeland Security, because terror distracts us from the pressing issue of abortion.
Voted against marriage penalty tax relief 15 times, & against Bush's tax cuts in 2001 & 2003, because I know how to $pend your money better than you do. Voted to cut intelligence spending & against pay increases for troops because that money could better be spent whipping up hysteria over abortion. Abortion been bery, bery good to me: in 1998, I used it to coat-hanger Matt Fong, who was wayyyy too moderate & wayyy too close.

MEET BARBARA LEE

The world is a dangerous place. — Barbara Lee
Meet my Congresswoman, Barbara Lee. Most of you probably know Barbara as the national laughingstock who cast the only No vote against authorizing a military response to 9/11. This is a pattern with Barbara. In 2001, she was the only member of Congress to attend psychotic America- & Israel-phobic Durban conference. In 1999, she was the only House member to oppose a resolution supporting US troops already serving in Serbia. In 1998, she was one of only 5 who opposed Clinton's bombing of Iraq. But there's so much more to Barbara.
Q: How many Americans have to be massacred before Barbara Lee authorizes military action?
a) 50,000 b) 500,000 c) 500 million
The correct answer is d) None of the above
Meet Barbara's friends: Huey Newton, "Minister of Defense" for murderous Black Panthers. Former Communist Party president Angela Davis. Cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal. Social commentator Harry Belafonte, who called Rice & Powell Bush's house slaves. Protege of Ron Dellums, who during Cold War introduced yearly 'peace budget' mandating 75% cut in defense spending and called for abolishing all intelligence agencies.
BARBARA IS A TRAINED SOCIAL WORKER
On 9/11: "My professional training is as a social worker and I understand the human psyche."
On Elian Gonzalez: "As a trained social worker, I can unequivocally say that Elian's father is totally fit."
On her unique perspective: "Throughout my political career, I've sought to bring my training as a social worker to bear on problems."
Barbara's background: Served on national committee of Communist-splinter group Committees of Correspondence. Dellums & Lee enamored of Castro as well as Marxist dictator Maurice Bishop of Grenada. Lee possibly committed treason by colluding with Bishop in coverup of Soviet military plans for Grenada. (The fact that Dellums was head of Senate Armed Services Committee & Lee sits on Intl Relations & Foreign Affairs Committees should make you sweat.)
Press Release: “This report by the 9/11 Commission confirms what we’ve known all along: the Bush Administration did not tell the truth to the American people. There was no connection between al Qaeda and Iraq.” (In fact, the Commission's final report found contacts between the Hussein regime & Al Qaeda throughout the 90's, culminating in a offer to give bin Laden safe haven in Iraq.)
Press Release: Welcomed the 9/11 Commission’s recommendation that American homeland security needed to be beefed up, which is good news, since she opposed Patriot Act, Dept. of Homeland Security, military border patrols, nomination of John Ashcroft, & arming airline pilots. On Patriot Act: "The roving wiretaps allowed in this bill would permit federal agents to eavesdrop on every computer in use in a public or university library," apparently unaware that federal agents still have to present a case to a FISA court for permission.
"Being the only No vote is troubling. You wonder if there's something you've missed." — Barbara Lee
Joined fellow Congressional Mensa member Eddie Johnson in calling for UN observers to monitor US election, saying Moore's F9/11 showed "the 2000 elections were rife with deception & fraud." (Lee apparently unaware that US Justice Dept Civil Rights Division found "no credible evidence that Floridians were intentionally denied their right to vote during the 2000 election.") Has not yet called for UN observers to monitor Cuban elections.
With Dennis Kucinich, sponsored fundraisers with CAIR, several of whose leaders have been indicted on federal terrorism charges. With Kucinich & Cynthia McKinney, filed lawsuit against Bush, Powell, & Rumsfield for withdrawing from Vietnam-era ABM treaty.
Member of Congressional Progressive Caucus with luminaries Kucinich, Sanders, McKinney, DeFazio, & Conyers, which proposes sweeping health care subsidies with no indication of how to pay for them. "Consumers & medical professionals, and not corporations, should make decisions with regard to health care & prescription drug pricing." "Economic inequality is the result of 2½ decades of government policies tilted in favor of large asset owners," in case you thought it was the result of individual differences that have been around for 10,000 years.
Opposed Iraq War: "The president has told us that we must attack Iraq because our nation is in imminent danger from Saddam Hussein," when of course Bush said no such thing, arguing that Hussein must not be allowed to become an imminent threat.
Roll-Call: Voted NO on reducing Marriage Tax & tax payments on Social Security, making increase in child tax credit permanent, on eliminating marriage penalty, on making Bush tax cuts permanent, on eliminating estate tax, on $46 billion in tax cuts for small business. Supports reparations for slavery, prohibiting oil drilling in Arctic wasteland, sending Colin Powell to Durban hate-fest.
