INTERNATIONAL OFFEND-A-MUSLIM DAY

**scroll for special Doonesbury update!**

Are these the cartoons they mean?

leparfumjihad.jpg

...it's the scent of a thousand years of cultural stagnation
...of getting your ass kicked from Tikrit to Tora Bora
...the menthol tang of your buddy's shaved-for-martyrdom ass
...the gelignite confidence of a killer as comfortable in Baghdad & Bali
     as Madrid & Manhattan
...It's 7th Century savagery with 21st Century precision
...It's the horny bouquet of Eternity spent porking 72 virgins whose hymens grow back every time, like those lizards when you cut off their tails, you know the ones I'm talking about.

Jihad le Parfum, by Beautiful Atrocities

And for her: Shariah Feminine Hygiene Spray, because it's not just good hygiene; it's the law

Adnan is wired for style in this casual yet striking ensemble that explodes right off the runway. The smoldering aura of repressed psychosexual confusion is easy to achieve with zip-up low-rise chaps made from hand-distressed pigskin lamb leather. One pocket with Velcro closure, perfect for cell phone or box cutters. Beach friendly, yet also translates to the street with ease, where your gelignite confidence will blow away shoppers, schoolchildren, & Jew dogs. Perfect for high holidays!

Muslims Call for a Day of Anger! Q: How would you tell?

UPDATE: Wow, cartoonists in Europe are under death threat, yet our most tired brilliant cartoonist, Garry Doonesbury Trudeau, remains silent! What gives? I zapped an email to Slate's Doonesbury central:

"Garry! Your fellow cartoonists in Europe are under death threat. Yet no word from you. We're all waiting for your wisdom on this. Let's hope you're not going to be as silent as the Hollywood foreign policy experts were when a gay Dutch filmmaker was murdered for his art."
Send Garry a message! See also Night of the Living Doonesbury

The last time you posted that pic I had to put my hand over the screen to hide the guys so I could read your post. They are so gross!! Ick!!

I read on another blog that Muslims regard the image of Mohammad sacred and NEVER to be used. If you look him up in the wikipedia thingy you won't find a picture. Even Satan has a picture. Go figure.

Soo..If you really wanted to offend.....

Posted by: Rightwingsparkle at February 2, 2006 02:11 PM

Jeff needs to photoshop a picture (cartoon) of mohammed doing something really nasty like sex with a little boy; how else is he gonna earn his Fatwa?
The price of Fatwas has gone up and dissing suicide killers just won't hack it anymore.

Posted by: Scorpius at February 2, 2006 02:51 PM

But he preferred 6 year old girls. They matured earlier back then

Posted by: beautifulatrocities at February 2, 2006 02:52 PM

You know if it's true that too much exposure to someting like violence or sex or whatever leads to being desensitized to it, then maybe we should all make an effort to flood the media relentlessly with images that offend Muslims. Then they would just boycott Disney and Pepsi like Christians rather than bombing and beheading.

Posted by: Patrick at February 2, 2006 02:56 PM

That's a very judgmental statement, Patrick

BRA. VO. I hope a Paris or Milan haute couture designer picks up on this.

Back in the 1970s, somebody or other made a film bio of Muhammad. I didn't see it, but the proscription on protraying the Prophet must have made for some fascinating cinematic gymnastics.

Here's an edifying quote from the script:

Abu Sofyan: Mohammed, there is still doubt in my heart.
Khalid: If we were to cut off your head, it would remove all your doubts.

LOTS AND LOTS OF PICTURES of MOHAMMED
My favorites, The "Prophet burning in Hell"

Jeff, the 1,000 years of cultural stagnation is right on the mark. I want any muslim to tell me what has their culture provided the world since the 1,200s. Can't design or build a skyscrapr by themselves, can't design or build an airplane by themselves can't design or build cell phones by themselves but they certainly can use them to destroy and kill.

There are many Israeli high-tech companies inventing cool new products (Recently an Israeli inventor has come up with artificial gills device to extract oxygen from water). How is it that we never want anything coming from a muslimm country except the oil in the ground?

My Christian fundamentalists friends have a theory on Mohammed. It's actually quite logical within the confines of its own construct.

After the Roman Empire had converted to Christianity and was on its way to evangelizing most of the world outside its borders, the devil grew irate and decided to do something about it. He called upon a pederast from a bloodthisrsty tribal culture to be his "Anti-Christ". While Jesus taught a hard to follow philosophy of "God is love" and turning the other cheek (which, while comendable has made Christian quasi-schizofenic in trying to follow it) Mohammed would teach an easy to follow doctrine of hating your enemies and lying when weak until you could destroy them. He would also demand a reverence to a tyranical god that demanded total submission ("Islam" does mnean that).

This Anti-Christ would make sure that his followers would have the necessary weapons to fight the Christian world one way or another; through warfare or through the Christian's own need and greed,. Thus, the huge amount of oil in Muslim lands making our leaders kowtow before tyrannical degenerates in dessert garb.

Some are stupid, some are just, well, nasty.

Unbelievably, American networks are refusing to show the cartoons "out of respect for the muslim religion". Funny, respect never stops the likes of Rolling Stone Magazine or NBC or Universal Pictures when it comes to Jesus.

HA! Let's Swiftboat those jihadiots!

Posted by: beautifulatrocities at February 2, 2006 08:31 PM

The delicacy and the suggestive nuance of your prose and your images once again grace the pixelated cyberworld! Ever consider applying for the job of presidential speechwriter? I think W could use an updated set of balls.

Islam manages to contain in one religion two of the most problematic elements of its unwilling parents:
from Judaism, a tribal legal system backed by a warlord ethos and from Christianity, a missionary horizon to include the whole world in the final revelation. There are nice Muslims, to be sure, but Islam is not nice. Not at all. If that makes me Anti-Muslim, well then...the Prophet can kiss my gay ass.

Posted by: EssEm at February 3, 2006 07:54 AM

Just for purposes of comparison, here's a page of Arab political cartoons from the region's newspapers. Looks to me like Jeff may be overdoing it on the delicacy and nuance, if he's trying to speak to these people on their level.

Well said. This whole jihad thing could be subtitled "Manhood in Crisis." One of the first laws the mullahs of Iran passed when they took was to lower the marriage age of girls to 9. How Islamic, marry them young just like the Big Mo!

What a bunch of sick puppies--and isn't it ironic that the anti-Christian, feminist, anti-patriarchy crowd in the West is completely silent on the issue?

They're focusing on the impt things, like Valerie Plame.

Did you see where Fitzgerald still won't (read: can't) say whether Plame was even covert, or that revealing her status was a crime? Guess he needs 3 more years to ferret that out.

Depicting actual historic events won't tell islamofascists anything they don't already know and take part in themselves, Scorpius. Okay, so Mohammed preferred little girls, but islamofascist men are truly equal-opportunity here.

Also, if Jeff can find a photograph of captain asteroid instead of a (cartoon), he'll be a rich man :p

Hmm.... I was wondering why you fell off the bus after the "Ethel" thing.

I'd ring up the local "Debauchery Police" and have them haul you off to the hoosgow, but then, it's probably in the Castro, and since it seems you have familiar, simple "hit the stash" access to these graphics you used to smack around the u-ulating asshats....

Well, what would be the point?

Hi - Great web site - any enthusiasm for copying off say a milliion or so copies of he-who-cannot-be-named-or-drawn and plastering the bus stops or subways of NY or London with them? Sort of guerilla disrespect....one thing about all this brouhaha, Islamo Fascists sure have exposed their Achilles Heel - easy to tease, can't take a joke.

G. Trudeau will have something to say as soon as he can figure out how to pin all this on King George.

Posted by: profligatewaste at February 4, 2006 05:30 AM

This site was so refreshing. It's great to let off some steam and make fun of Muslim scum. I am liberal as far as most issues but it pisses me off the way leftists such as the Greens have made it their #1 priority to kiss Islamofascist ass. These are the same people who are against Christian extremists, yet they are supporting a group of people hundreds of times more fanatical. I thought they were supposed to support peace and women's rights, but hey I guess that is a lower priority compared to defending people that blow up school buses full of children and treat women as property. People try to say Islam is not the enemy and they act this way because they are "oppressed", but it's obvious that savagery is built into the religion, and any religion that wants me covered and peeking through a screen, yeah, they are the enemy. People who support them are so naive...if a Muslim had the chance, he would kill you and everyone you care about!

Posted by: Becky at February 4, 2006 08:13 AM

Thank you, Becky, you give me some small hope for liberals...but if they catch you talking like that, they'll kick you out of the club faster than you can say fatwa.

While I'm at it, I think someone should start a website called "Waiting for Mohammed" which sets up a clock on the page and asks the question. "When will Muslims ever apologize...for anything?" And then just watch the time go by. Tic toc into eternity with the silence.

Do that my own damn self, you say? Can't. Sorry. I don't have the time, what with reading BA and making comments and all.

When I suggested the image of Mohammad for you to use, I really had no idea that the entire blogosphere would go nuts with it!

I take it back.

I don't mind having fun at the radical monster's expense, but I really think we have all gone too far. There are a billion Muslims in the world and most of them aren't terrorists or radicals. They get offended too. I realize the point we are trying to make, but this over the top stuff is making us look bad.

Let the yelling at me begin.

*note: Don't hate me cuz I'm nice....;-)

"I read on another blog that Muslims regard the image of Mohammad sacred and NEVER to be used. If you look him up in the wikipedia thingy you won't find a picture. Even Satan has a picture. Go figure."

In Grenada Spain there is a palace built by some forward thinking Muslim King, called the Alhambra--it's one of the most serene and beautiful places I've ever been. I think it was built during a time when the Muslims were not going mental like they are today. In fact, it is said that here is the only place in the world where you will see images depicting a reclining Mohammed and the seven heavens of Moslem paradise, and (gasp) animal life forms. They got on very well with the locals and stayed some 500 years before a Catholic Queen gave them the boot. I think it's high time Europe kicked their sorry asses off the continent.

Here's a good round up of some of the slogans the demonstrators in London are carrying:

Cartoon Jihad

And regarding the comment about being "over the top" and the billions of peace loving Muslims... Has a single one of them come out to criticize this over-reaction? No. not one in a billion. tells you a little something doesn't it?

Posted by: Maria at February 4, 2006 05:19 PM

Rightwingsparkle, you're a nice Catholic girl. I suggest you read up on the Battle of Lepanto and the reason why the feast of the Rosary is on that date.
The majority of Muslims who are not terrorists or radicals are resoundingly, deafeningly, earsplittingly silent on the mischief that their jihad-inclined brethren are up to. That makes them accomplices, in my book. They can get offended all damn day if they want. The point, for me, is that the West needs to regrow some stones and tell the Mohammedans to grow up and get used to it. What has being nice to them ever accomplished?

Posted by: EssEm at February 4, 2006 07:21 PM

I thought those were *hilarious* ideas. Thanks for posting them!

Posted by: Darren at February 4, 2006 09:01 PM

I agree that the Danish newspaper shouldn't have published the cartoons depicting Mohammed as a terrorist. It if denigrates the Muslim religion, then an apology from the newspaper would be appropriate. However, what I don't agree with is indiscriminant anger directed by Muslim extremists towards the entire European Union and the little country of Denmark. What the radical Islamicists don't seem to realize is that the government there, isn't responsible for the content of the newspaper or the behavior of its owners. What the newspaper and the Danish government do are entirely separate. Unlike many of the religious states in the Middle East, Denmark is a secular nation with anLutheran Church which does not control the state or the people there. The problem with the Islamicists is that they seem to think the publication of the cartoons was a major conspiracy designed to denigrate Islam and humiliate all Muslims. That's like saying that if the Washington Post publishes offensive remarks towards a particular culture, it is completely sanctioned by the U.S. government and every American multinational. Therefore, it would be appropriate to go and boycott Krispy Kreme. Of course, it's an absurd correlation. But that's precisely what the Islamicists have done, in boycotting Danish dairy products and bombing EU office, which along with the government of Denmark, have absolutely nothing to do with the publication of those cartoons. So radical Islam: Fucking Grow UP! Your moderate Islamic counterparts have found a peaceful coexistence with the West. So can you!

Posted by: Joe at February 4, 2006 09:34 PM

And are we going to expect every publication in the West that mocks or misrepresents Christianity to apologize every time too? There'd be a lineup all the way to the moon. I won't hold my breath.

Posted by: EssEm at February 5, 2006 06:51 AM

And one of our local Muslims writes our feckless local newspaper to thank them for not printing the cartoons, even citing that annoying Disney song "It's A Small World." It would make a lovely soundtrack for their protests, wouldn't it?

Posted by: Patricia at February 5, 2006 11:30 AM

This will probably be the most trivial and superficial comment you'll get, but the guy on the left in your Jihad Juicers picture has the most beautiful body I've ever seen. Please, please, please tell me where you got it so I can see more of him.

Islam, the "religion" of peace? These violent, unthinking insects will soon be downgraded to a CULT, and go down in history as the largest cult the world has ever seen. This Mohammed guy is truly the anti-Christ, based on his autobiography. Sad, but they will have to nuke us first (and they soon will) before we are forced to finally destroy them.
Gosh, I hope I didn't offend those pigs, but if I did, bring it on!

Posted by: Patrick at February 5, 2006 01:45 PM

Patrick,
I hate to tell you, but if you are not muslim, you have no muslim "friend"...watch your back.
Their belief is, if you don't convert to Islam (the "peaceful" religion), you will die by the sword.........so if you have a muslim friend, and would like to live another day, you better start reading the Qu'ran and turn your back on God. Good luck, and what the heck does "thought provoking" mean, coming from an insect?

Posted by: Sandy at February 5, 2006 02:30 PM

Judging by this post, it looks like you will get yourself a fatwa very soon. Are you armed? If not, you should seriously think about it. These wackjobs can be very clever.

Great points, really, the best I've read on the subject and I've been reading comments all day.

How infantile are these people? I guess they just don't understand a free society. They are so used to life under tyranny that they can't fathom [in their undeveloped brains] a newspaper being separate from a gov't or a nation.

The stupidity coming from that part of the world is truly something to see... I mean I don't even think the Monty Python boys could dream this stuff up.

Film maker Theo van Gogh, a direct relative of Vincent, was not gay. Pim Fortuyn, killed two years earlier by an animal rights activist, was gay. Fortuyn was a major critic of islam as well.
