TIME OUT
Posting on Beautiful Atrocities will be MUCH reduced over the summer as I take time to focus on a couple of writing projects. And frankly, I'm SICK of politics. In the meantime, read the blogroll & watch Passions, where Sheridan is about to recover her son, who was stolen at birth when Beth kept Sheridan in a basement pit for months. Oddly, this only happened last year, but the child is now 6 years old...

Oh I see just like that. No funny stuff either huh? ....Why I oughta !!!!!
Writing projects? To those of us that went to Public school in Louisiana, that seems like bragging.
I bet you don't even have to use spell check. You elitist Bas@#$*!.

I knew it! The A's are playing better and now you are going to start watching them! ;-)
Stop in and say hi.

Have a good break. Kick back, relax, enjoy yourself.
But don't get too comfortable. Passions is only so interesting, after all.
Posted by: Temujin at June 27, 2005 06:44 PM
Sigh. I understand though, so I wish you a good summer and I'll look forward to your return.

Just as long as it's a HIATUS and not a RETIREMENT, we'll be ok. Otherwise, there will be scores of emotional breakdowns. Including my own.

Regis reruns, no new Hope and Faith this summer and now THIS?
Posted by: RP at June 28, 2005 06:18 AM
BOO!
Who knew that "Chavs" were so political?
Rest up, but you'd better come back.
Posted by: Bill from INDC at June 28, 2005 06:59 AM
Well, that sucks. Now I'll have to, like, think for myself for a while? Just 'cause you have "writing projects"? I'm going back into therapy. Or estivate.
Posted by: EssEm at June 28, 2005 07:35 AM
Good luck on the writing Jeff. Even in your absence this blog can be amusing, and "educational"--had to look up "estivate." How apt!!

No.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm really more of an "As The World Turns" girl myself....
Posted by: sadie at June 28, 2005 03:05 PM
It's unclear how I'm supposed to keep up with the world of television in your absence. I guess I could resort to watching it, but it's all the way downstairs . . . in the television room.
In the meantime, I'll check in every now and again to see if you've updated the "Outside Reading" sidebar, which is my main link with the non-blogging world. I realize this is sad, but we don't all live in the Bay Area, where it's all so happening.
Posted by: Attila Girl at June 28, 2005 05:37 PM
Jeff's a big-time writer now. He's gonna be a fixture in the New York literary circles, palling around with Gore Vidal, Tom Wolfe, Jay McInerney, Jonathan Safran Foer, etc.
I hope he tells Norman Mailer to go feck off.

Don't be stupid. I'll kiss his ass ;p

Good luck on the writing, Jeff, but I'm not sure whether it's possible to follow your advice about Passions. I mean, we live in Australia, where the show just isn't as popular, and we get the episodes about a year late, and the show gets played at irregular hours on a crappy commercial network.
I know, I know, we Aussies are living in the Dark Ages, yada yada yada. But what can you do?
Posted by: TimT at June 28, 2005 10:17 PM
Whatever you do will seem insignificant, but it is very important that you do it.

Enjoy your break, but leave 'I'll be back' soon slogan at the virtual gate, Jeff ...
PS: There is no escape from politics ;-) Although he does not look like a terrorist, more like an emaciated, weasel human being with his eyes turned inward. He is different. He is a terrorist. I hate Winston Smith. (via Modulator) Doublethinking For Doubleplusgooding

when Beth kept Sheridan in a basement pit for months
Okay, I finally noticed your coded plea for help.
I'm sure someone's looking over your shoulder right now, so quickly exit this comment thread, hum casually, and blog about an innocuous topic such as "I Am OUTRAGED By The'MSM'." Within the post, use Naval Cipher #5 to give the latitude and longitude for the location where you're being held captive. Hold on, man. We're on our way.

I can't wait for my vacation because I'm so sick of politics. The problem is that if you blog because you're sick of politics, you get sick of being sick -- a contradictory status I'm afraid I'm unable to resolve.

Well, damn. This little hiatus is going to be really annoying. I do hope your writing goes well and you enjoy the time off. Don't enjoy it too much, though--I've noticed that happy people usually aren't nearly as funny.
Posted by: utron at June 29, 2005 09:07 AM
Haaa!...a friend of mine happens to be of the writers on Passions.
I'll see if I can pry an explanation outa him... ; )

Can't you just replace the politics with more pics of cantaloupian breasts? Don't tell me you're sick of those too!?!?

Re: what Utron said, one of Attila the Hub's favorite quotes is from John Cleese, who pointed out that after he went through therapy he felt he just wasn't quite as funny.
Fortunately, there's a lot more to Jeff than his sense of humor.

I lurve you. I'll keep clicking, no matter what. Enjoy your summer. Write on, babe.

"Even in your absence this blog can be amusing"
is self-quotation at its worst, but SondraK's trackback ping is a scream!

Jeff, you copycat :p. Hey, have a good summer...and stay away from the sharks and earthquakes.
Posted by: Martin at Blogbat at June 29, 2005 05:25 PM
Summer Hiatus? There is no time for that.
For those of you that can't stand the idea of having less to read in the summertime...I invite you to stop by.
Click on the name above and prepare to be stupified...or perhaps just gobsmacked.
Either way, it beats a hiatus.

hmmm...that would be the name BELOW apparently
Posted by: LeftyJones at June 30, 2005 01:06 PM
Aw. Well, darlin', enjoy yourself! And good luck on the book projects! :)
