What is it about Anatolians and manhandling flesh?

And all this time I thought a Flaming Walenza was Polish pyromaniac.

This term "Flaming Walenza" has put me Sherlock mode once again. Not being familiar with current military slang (very war engenders its own lexicon) it took me a moment to realize the blogger was refering to a hair cut, or more precisely a hair singeing. This treatment was followed by a cupping massage. The blogger implies that this is a particularly Turkish kind of tonsorial experience. What is more accurate it's the kind of barbershop experience Westerners were accustomed to in the 18th and 19th centuries. Evidently these Turkish barbers in Iraq practise their art as a "health care" service, much like our ancestral barbers did 200 years ago. If Scottish Tanker had a bothersome wisdom tooth his friendly Turkish barber would probably do the honors in a skillful, albeit painful, manner. The other intriguing point was the term "Flaming Walenza" itself. Evidently it's intended as a pun on the famous high-wire family act. But they are the Wallendas, no "z".

Martin, you're thinking of a "Flaming Moe", that fablous cocktail fad named (fraudulently) for tavernkeeper Maurice Szyslak.

Well, cocktail, solidarity leader hey, either way the Germans still get drunk... ;)
