TAMMY BRUCE: NO GIRLIE WOMEN
Tammy Bruce will be debating the president of the California Nurses Association on Hannity & Colmes tonight. The Nurses are pouting that Arnold's a 'bully' for calling their unions - gasp - special interests! Tammy's advice:
"If they can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. The feminist movement for decades has worked to have women be treated as equals, not as sniveling cry babies who need to be coddled. And what do the teacher & nurse union operatives do when confronted by politics? They turn into sniveling cry babies. Or perhaps a more appropriate term - Girlie Women."

Add "Nazi" to that. When these nurses strike, people die and suffer. And the selfsame nurses who go about bragging about how humanitarian they are for choosing such a profession are the ones whose neglect of those entrusted to them, are the reason for it for the harm done. Seems to me, when nurses strike, Trial lawyers should swarm.

When I was at UCLA there was a really tough question on one of my exams in a women's studies class. The prof announced that it was there "to separate the women from the girls."

Tammy Bruce f'ing rocks. I've always liked her (I mean, since her epiphany).
C-Span televised a talk she gave a a college a few months back, and of course, some dick who said he was with an 'anarchist organization' (AAAAAHAHA) called her a facist.
She suggested that he might want to do some more research on 'anarchy', being that he was bragging about belonging to an organization.
Later, she asked if anyone could tell her how facism started. College students - not one answer. She looks at Mr. Anarchy and says, "You sir, you called me a facist, so I assume you have some knowledge of the roots of facism."
Deer in the headlights. Sweet. I Tivo'd it.

Before writing the scripts for The Return of the Secaucus 7 and Eight Men Out, John Sayles published a couple of books that were really good. One was a novel called Union Dues, and the other was a group of short stories that were real slices of Americana. Title: The Anarchist Convention.

well, I think Spirit Fingers would agree with me on this: If she is going for that Kabuki look, it is critical to shave off the old, lower eyebrows before applying the new, higher ones. Two sets of eyebrows doesn not result in an elegant look of quizzical surprise-- she just looks like a mutant.

wake up an smell the ether. who do you want taking care of you in the hospital? a registered nurse with a degree or the girl from the drive up window at Wendy's? there is a tremendous shortage of trained nurses in this country and due to the poor wages, bad hours and heaps of disrespect flung toward the nursing profession, no one in thier right mind is entering the nursing profession. by 2010, there will be a predicted shortage of 20-30% in the hospital setting. so, when you're having that first heart attack (or second or third) or any other life threating illness, remember don't try finding your nurse, there isn't one. of course when you do find one, she, like your doctor, doesn't speak english very well.

I believe Tammy's point is that if you're a woman who wants to be taken seriously in POLITICS, don't start whining that anyone who challenges you POLITICALLY is a big bad bully & part of the oppressive patriarchy blah blah blah.
I belonged to a union for many years & it's a mixed blessing, but they're absolutely special interests. The NEA's primary interest is ITSELF, not students, which is why they oppose school vouchers. To the NEA, the best possible world is one with the most NEA teachers, regardless of the education the kids are getting
